The Director of Project Development will be integral to advancing my client's energy initiatives, primarily focused on natural gas-fired power generation projects. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of project development, from creating detailed plans, schedules, and budgets to coordinating teams and stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. The director will also engage with local communities and regulators to build support and address any challenges that may arise during development.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and key decision points.
Ensure projects stay within scope, schedule, and budget through effective coordination and oversight.
Cultivate relationships with local stakeholders, including landowners, regulators, and elected officials.
Proactively identify and resolve potential development issues, reporting solutions to senior management.
Participate in public relations activities, providing input for media and informational materials.
Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, budgets, and issues.
Preferred Requirements:
10+ years of experience in project development or related fields
Experience leading power generation, oil and gas, or infrastructure development projects
Familiarity with U.S. energy markets such as MISO, SPP, ERCOT, SERC, PJM, or WECC
Proven success in energy project development
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
