About the position
This is a unique opportunity to join a growing biotechnology company. As a leader within the automated patch-clamp space, Sophion Bioscience is expanding our commercial organization. This new hybrid sales position will support the expansion of Sophion Bioscience's market share within the central and southeastern region(s) of the United States. This position is perfect for a proven inside sales professional looking to further develop their outside sales expertise. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships while expanding the existing customer base to grow market share, revenue, and profitability annually.
Main Responsibilities
Develop and expand Sophion's sales pipeline in the central and southeastern United States
Perform prospecting and lead generation activities on a regular basis
Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers
Work closely with our Application Scientists and Field Service Engineers to develop leads into opportunities
Achieve territory goals & targets, via proficient forecasting and closing business in the assigned territory
Develop and execute a sales plan efficiently, with proper planning, utilizing all resources available
Maintain accurate & up-to-date customer and sales information using our CRM system (Salesforce)
Conduct demonstrations of Sophion products to potential customers
Travel to customer sites and present on the value of Sophion products
Attend and participate in regional meetings and trade shows when assigned.
Key Qualifications

Knowledge of the drug discovery process from high throughput screening (384-format) to lead optimization and safety assessment on ion channels is a plus

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Software, Skype for Business, and Salesforce

Good presentation, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written)
Displays a high sense of urgency to effectively complete the task at hand
Experience
3+ years of sales or business development experience in biotechnology, capital equipment, or related field
Bachelor's Degree or higher with a focus in Biotechnology, Business, Economics or related field
B2B sales: 2-year+ (preferred)
Capital equipment sales: 1-year+ (preferred)
