Based in our Selma, NC offices, the director of development and community engagement is responsible for networking, relationship building and fundraising in Johnston County with a secondary emphasis on the larger Triangle. The director cultivates and solicits gifts, grants and event sponsorships from individuals, corporations, foundations, government agencies and others. The director supervises one part time support position in Johnston County, reports to the vice president of resource development and marketing and participates as an active member of the RDM team. The director will develop an annual resource development plan for Johnston County with guidance from the VP. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in soliciting five-figure gifts and stewarding donors and will be familiar with modern development office practices.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: • Strong familiarity with Johnston County, NC is essential. • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. • A minimum of three years' work experience in non-profit fundraising. • Knowledge of fundraising techniques and sources of funding for non-profit organizations. • Knowledge of principles and practices of effective non-profit management. • Ability to implement effective fundraising operations. • Strong oral and written communication skills.
