Position Overview
The IT Support Specialist will be the first line of defense for resolving IT-related issues, including network, server, hardware, software, and telecommunication challenges. You'll assist users with the setup and configuration of IT equipment, ensure smooth operation of peripheral devices, and recycle returned IT equipment. With a focus on process improvement and automation, this role provides opportunities to enhance operational efficiency. This is a contract-to-hire position, offering the potential for long-term growth within the company.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support for computer systems, hardware, and software.
Respond to technical support requests via phone, email, or in person.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including network and printing problems.
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, including operating systems and applications.
Assist end-users with technical guidance on the use of hardware and software.
Collaborate with the IT team to address and resolve complex technical issues.
Document all support activities in the ticketing system.
Contribute to the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
Stay informed about emerging technologies and IT best practices.
Work with the agile team to define user defects and improve user experience.
Create and manage JIRA stories to address and fix user issues.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or related IT certifications are preferred, but not required.
2+ years of experience in technical support or a similar role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Apple Business, and Google Workspace.
Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
Experience with help desk ticketing systems.
Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Experience with automation tools and process improvement initiatives is preferred, but not required.
