McKinley Marketing Partner's client is seeking a backstage manager to assist in overseeing backstage operations during their live event, ensuring smooth transitions and operations during sessions.
This is an onsite and temporary position. Candidates must be able to commute to Washington D.C. for the event. The event will take place on December 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
Responsibilities
Maintain constant communication with the Stage Manager through headsets to coordinate activities and ensure all timings and cues are executed smoothly
Assist oversee the backstage management of speakers for sessions
Cue speakers to go on stage at the appropriate time, ensuring they are prepared and in position
Assist with the preparation and organization of speakers backstage, including guiding them to their mark when it's time for their presentation
Monitor and ensure that all backstage areas are ready for upcoming speakers and sessions.
Work with other backstage staff (e.g., assistants, technical crew) to ensure timely transitions between speakers and that all session components are executed seamlessly
Maintain a tidy, organized, and efficient backstage environment
Quickly resolve any issues that arise backstage, including assisting speakers with last-minute preparations or technical difficulties
Act as a point of contact for any backstage emergencies or urgent requests
Assist in rehearsals and technical checks as needed to ensure speakers and presenters are prepared
Requirements
Previous experience in event production, stage management, or a similar role
Strong communication and organizational skills
Comfortable working with headsets and communication systems.
Knowledge of event flow and timing for live presentations
