The Lead Solutions Architect for Digital Workspaces is a pivotal role responsible for designing innovative solution architectures across three key domains of "Communication & Collaboration", "Productivity & Automation", and "Business Enablement & Adoption".
This position requires an experienced visionary who can bridge business needs with technology, to deliver digital workspace solutions which will enable business functions to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of life.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of work by creating agile, user-centric digital environments, with a strategic emphasis on integrating and optimizing Microsoft 365 services and other applications within the enterprise architecture, while leveraging and incorporating AI to enhance business processes and decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in architecting and implementing digital workspace strategies that enhance collaboration, drive productivity, and enable business growth, including familiarity with enterprise and solution architecture principles based on Microsoft platforms.
Collaboration with Information Technology (OIT) team members and Teams:
Engage with other Office of Information Technology (OIT) team members, including architects, to participate in the enterprise architecture technical strategy. This involves understanding business requirements of various company and affiliate institutions and identify technology and data solutions that align with these needs. At times may need to collaborate with Solution Architects across the company and its affiliate companies to realize solutions.
Provide Leadership on Architecture Standards & Processes: Provide leadership and expertise on collaboration tools such as Microsoft 365, Teams, Teams Voice, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Power Apps and other Microsoft and non-Microsoft applications focused on enhancing workplace productivity.
Lead Design and Implementation: Coordinate the design and implementation of new technology and business projects, processes and architectures. These projects can range from new technology deployments to the retirement of legacy components.
Expertise in Technology Stack across M365 and non M365 applications on the Windows ecosystem: Maintain an expert-level understanding of the M365 technology stack, including but not limited to Exchange Online, Microsoft Security Suite (EOP, Defender for Office 365 P2), Microsoft Entra/Azure AD, and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Copilot and its enablement across applications.
Support of Various Technologies: Provide technical support for a wide variety of technologies, including Cryptography solutions (SSL/TSL), SSO integration technologies such as SAML2, API and more.
Performs evaluation of new and emerging technologies, such as cloud-based collaboration tools and support the secure integration of those products into the environment.
The role is responsible for assessing the latest technologies to determine their potential benefits and risks, and if deemed suitable, managing their integration into the company's existing technology environment in a safe and secure manner.
Will engage the stakeholders to facilitate workshops and training sessions for end-users to ensure effective adoption of new technologies. Gathering feedback from users to improve the digital workspace experience.
Will enforce policies and compliance guidelines to ensure digital workspace solutions adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Will assist in evaluating and selecting vendors for new solutions.
Will be required to creating and update comprehensive documentation for architecture designs, implementation plans, and best practices.
Will be responsible for planning and enablement of "Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity" across the portfolio of DWS applications and solutions.
Team management and span of control: may be required to manage a team of resources with backgrounds in "Communication & Collaboration" and "Productivity & Automation." May be responsible for providing guidance to the team members who would like to learn more about DWS Solution Architecture.
Education: • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science. 4 years or relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.
Experience: • 6 years of industry and system experience with working knowledge of current Windows Server technology (Including AD, Entra/AD, DNS, TCP/IP, etc.)
Certifications:
The candidate is expected to have certifications related to enterprise architecture, such as:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert: Demonstrates skills in designing solutions that run on Azure.
TOGAF Certified: Demonstrates understanding of the enterprise architecture framework.
Additionally, having a strong foundation in IT infrastructure architecture/design/engineering and related Microsoft certifications can be advantageous.
