We are seeking a Director of Hardware Systems Engineering to support an innovative technology organization based in Denver, Colorado. This position will lead the development and integration of hardware control systems within a cloud-based, SaaS-oriented environment.
Overview: In this role, you will lead the development of hardware systems that seamlessly integrate with cloud software, enabling efficient control and management of sophisticated devices. You'll oversee a team responsible for the full control systems stack, from software integration to custom hardware components, ensuring reliable performance within a scalable, cloud-connected platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of engineers focused on developing hardware control systems optimized for cloud-based environments
Collaborate closely with cross functional teams to define control system requirements that meet scalability and performance standards
Oversee project roadmaps, ensuring alignment with software development cycles and schedules
Prepare deliverables such as conceptual designs and design criteria, prioritizing features for remote management and monitoring
Spearhead the development of firmware and hardware features with an emphasis on SaaS compatibility and cloud connectivity
Manage a team of control system engineers, supporting hiring, training, and talent retention in line with a high-growth company
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
10+ years of experience in hardware or embedded systems engineering, ideally within a SaaS, IoT, or edge computing context
5+ years of experience managing teams and projects that involve hardware-software integration within cloud or networked environments
Proficiency in coding languages (Python, C++, etc.) with an emphasis on hardware-software integration
Strong project management skills to balance hardware and SaaS product development demands
Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively across engineering, product, and cloud teams

Compensation: $200,000 - $250,000 base salary with bonus potential and equity options
