We have an IT Manager opportunity at a portfolio company in the broader Los Angeles region. This person will lead the IT infrastructure as an individual contributor and is responsible for overseeing the daily IT operations within the organizations. They are responsible for ensuring that the company and its employees have the technology they need to accomplish their goals and objectives. This includes reliable hardware, software, and access for remote workers and close coordination with other departments like HR or finance so data is secure.
Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure Management:
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
Manage and optimize network and server infrastructure to support the organization's operations.
Systems Administration:
Administer and maintain servers, workstations, and other IT systems.
Ensure data backups and disaster recovery plans are in place and regularly tested.
Network Security:
Implement and monitor security measures to protect the company's computer systems and networks.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging threats to proactively address potential security risks.
Help Desk and Technical Support:
Provide leadership and guidance to the IT support team.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
Develop and implement user support policies and procedures.
Software and Applications:
Evaluate, recommend, and implement software and applications that enhance operational efficiency.
Ensure proper licensing, updates, and patches for all software applications.
Vendor Management:
Collaborate with external vendors to procure necessary IT equipment and services.
Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality of service and cost-effectiveness.
IT Budgeting:
Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Provide regular reports on IT expenditure and performance against budget.
IT Strategy and Planning:
Work closely with senior management to align IT strategy with overall business goals.
Develop and execute a strategic IT roadmap to support the company's growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CISSP, PMP) are a plus.
Proven experience as an IT Manager or similar role in a small to mid-sized company.
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, security, and networking principles.
Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is desirable.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
