Major, Lindsey & Africa's Interim Legal Talent group is seeking, on behalf of our corporate client, to identify a commercial attorney with energy experience to work on a part-time, temporary basis for a Houston, TX based client. Hours will start around 15-25 per week and could expand from there.
Overview: Interim Sr. Counsel (Commercial)
Company: Green Energy Technology Company
Experience: 5+ years experience
Location: Hybrid / Houston TX
Responsibilities:
Advise and support on all commercial contracting for, primarily, a green methanol project in Louisiana.
Draft commercial contracts and finance documents as needed.
Review and provide legal advice on commercial contracts.
Manage and negotiate, together with the commercial teams, all contracts.
Provide legal support on intellectual property matters as needed.
Handle together with direct report, external counsel as needed.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree
Active bar membership in good standing.
5-8 years of experience in project finance and commercial contracting, preferably within the energy sector.
Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents.
Strong understanding of construction, feedstock and offtake agreements and general commercial contracts.
Experience with intellectual property law is a plus.
Energy sector experience, construction projects, energy transactions all a plus.
