LOCATION: Onsite 4 days a week, one day remote. Must be a local candidate.
This role is for a Technology Project/Business Relationship Manager, responsible for working with IT teams to manage relationships and handle project and technology requests from the Police Department. The position requires onsite presence 4-5 days a week at the Police Department.
The position is contingent upon the candidate successfully passing a background check and clearance process conducted by the Police Department within the first month.
Job Responsibilities: • Collaborate with key stakeholder with Public Safety division to understand the technical landscape • Be the point of contact between Public Safety division and IT team to know who to contact when required • IT Liaison to understand the technology landscape and work with technical team to complete request • Analyze enterprise technology requests from staff and various entities within the Public Safety • Develops, tracks and manages project request, service request, project plans, timelines and scope • Facilitate monthly meetings and prepare presentations that includes reviewing request, ServiceDesk incidents and SLA metrics • Partner closely with other members of functional technical teams to define business requirements • Ensure teams are in delivery of high-quality technical solutions that meet business needs • Prepare and generate system reports and other output • Coordinate software system updates and upgrades • Perform data validation and quality checks • Provide support for inventory management • Coordinate work with City IT Division and communicate tasks and deadlines effectively to maintain good working relationships with other City staff and consultants • Participate in procurement process, such as assisting with overseeing administrative procurement workflow while following City purchasing guidelines, and tracking procurement records. • Coordinate the installation, testing, and support of computer hardware and software applications • Coordinate the repair and replacement of computer components and related equipment. • Assist with analyzing and resolving IT problems, including, with approval, providing IT alternatives to users • Provide onsite support and assistance for critical incident resolution • Additional responsibilities include risk analysis and mitigation, stakeholder management, business relationship management, and change management
QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field preferred. • PMP or PMI certification • 7 or more years of experience • Proven technical project management experience • People management and team building skills • Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities • Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization • Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment
TYPICAL EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree or years of experience in lieu of degree (1). For research, development, system integration, or projects with high technical content, a B.S. in a relevant technical field may be required. For projects with lower technical content (e.g., services or transactions), a business administration or other degree may be preferred.
Experience in Managing Projects and Track Record: Prior Project experience required should have 8+ years of experience working on projects or programs, with at least 4 years serving successfully in positions of major responsibilities such as a Project Manager. Certifications: PMP® or other certification (e.g. DAWIA)
Project Management Professional (PMP) certified required.
Candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to interact with a large community of stakeholders.
Candidates must possess leadership skills to successfully manage diverse teams.
Knowledge of all aspects of technology including infrastructure, networking, and applications.
