Lead assigned capital projects (standalone projects and projects within plant outages) and manage engineering, design, and construction resources in the West Gulf Coast (WGC) Region. Typical project load is between 10-20 projects up to $2MM TIC.
Develop estimates, funding request documents, schedules, and ongoing forecasts for assigned projects.
Ensure all projects undergo adequate hazard and safety reviews, with timely completion of all recommendations.
Ensure inherent process safety is followed in all project designs.
Provide field supervision/support during project field execution.
Manage project safety.
Maintain projects on budget and schedule.
Ensure all projects meet the operability needs of the customer.
Gain a basic understanding of the operating plant environment, process, and equipment.
Understand and adhere to quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing plant operations, maintenance, or capital projects experience.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Strong leadership abilities.
Self-motivated and willing to learn.
High ethical standards - unwilling to compromise on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
Organizational credibility - able to influence business area, engineering, and manufacturing managers in decision-making processes.
Technical degree (Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
Ability to travel 10-20% depending on workload - WGC region includes operating facilities in TX and LA.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct Safety Kickoff Meetings with contractors and operations teams before project execution.
Confirm contractors are aware of and follow all Safety and Engineering Standards.
Clearly communicate safety goals - 0 Recordables, 0 First Aids.
Complete short-term contractor safety audit forms daily during project execution.
Complete Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews and forms daily during project execution.
Participate in the Safe Work Permit issuance process with the operations team.
Lead daily morning safety/toolbox meetings with all crafts.
Report all incidents immediately.
Participate in Safety Sampling and Critical Safety Audits during outages.
Attend and contribute to monthly Team Safety Meetings.
