Future Foam has an immediate opportunity for a Production Planner at its facility in Mansfield, Ma. This is a hands-on position and reports to the Production Manager.
KEY OBJECTIVE
Manage the development and execution of daily schedules and inventories in order to meet customer demand and expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES • Optimize Production Planning: Utilize and enhance existing planning tools to streamline scheduling and production processes. • Daily Scheduling: Develop and maintain daily production schedules based on customer orders, including schedules for pouring, cutting, fabrication, and truck drivers. • Material Coordination: Ensure timely sourcing and availability of materials for the Fabrication department to meet order requirements. • Yield Management: Maximize material usage by converting long foam blocks into smaller products with minimal scrap. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Fabrication, Shipping, and Traffic teams to align daily operations with production goals, elevating issues to management when needed. • Customer Order Accuracy: Collaborate with customer service to ensure orders are accurate and deadlines are achievable. • Adaptable Scheduling: Adjust daily production plans to accommodate new orders or modifications to existing orders. • Inventory Oversight: Consistently evaluate inventory levels to prevent excess and ensure order fulfillment. • Logistics and Delivery Coordination: Arrange transportation and delivery schedules for all shipments, including setting up daily schedules for Future Foam truck drivers. • Schedule Monitoring and Communication: Track CDL driver schedules and inform the CSR team of any delays. • Logistics Troubleshooting: Resolve issues with carriers to keep customers updated with accurate information. • Departmental Coverage: Provide backup support for Traffic, Shipping, and Fabrication supervisors as needed. • Inventory Accuracy: Act as a member of the Physical Inventory Team, continuously monitoring inventory to ensure accuracy and integrity. • Management Team Support: Participate as an active member of the management team to drive positive changes and support employees effectively. • Safety and Quality Compliance: Adhere to all safety and quality standards, policies, and procedures. • Exemplify Integrity and Sound Judgment: Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and strong decision-making in all tasks and interactions. • Availability for Overtime: Work overtime when necessary to support production demands. • Leadership: Provide leadership by establishing trust with all co-workers by: Being Approachable, Accepting Responsibility, Practicing Confidentiality, and being Mutually Supportive. • New Employee Development: Participate in hiring, training and development of plant employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
• A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business or engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in production or material planning using MRP tools and systems.
• Ability to prioritize and balance workloads in real time.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, Power Point.
• Knowledge of MS Excel at an advanced level including: Pivot tables, Macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
• Knowledge of visualization tools like Power-Bi or Tableau.
• Strong interpersonal skills, is driven and a self-starter.
• Ability to work long and irregular hours in response to customer demands.
