Position Overview:
The Senior Data Engineer will work collaboratively with all practice groups to design and maintain the data storage, transformation, and visualization needs of CA. Building upon skills and knowledge of Excel, Alteryx, relational databases, Tableau, and Azure, this role will prepare data into structured formats, conceptualize data storage requirements, design dashboards to effectively present data, and manipulate data for practice analysts and report writing.
Project leadership opportunities will be present to manage third-party data sources and internal analyst requirements. Product management aspects will increase as exposure to and familiarity with visualization strategy increases. This position also requires frequent interaction with the Editorial department for QA during the product lifecycle.
The position reports to our Director, Retirement and Data.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Create new data engineering workflows to collect Cerulli and third-party asset and wealth management data, stage and warehouse data, clean and manipulate data, and create client-ready data deliverables.
Evaluate and enhance current data engineering constructs.
Streamline Cerulli's existing excel-based market sizing models using sophisticated data programming techniques using SQL, Python, Alteryx, and other programming tools and languages.
Design and update Tableau-based dashboards for Cerulli's Interactive Report Dashboards.
Spearhead data warehousing efforts in collaboration with other members of the data team, market research analysts, and IT.
Collaborate with IT and third-party consultants on data warehousing and data migration efforts initiatives across research practices.
Work with data team, IT, and senior management to establish data governance policies
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will be someone with 5+ years of experience in a data analysis and/or engineering roles
Excellent communication skills
Must be highly proficient in SQL, relational databases and Python
Must be comfortable using GitHub to upload, store, and share code.
Experience working with data storage and warehousing solutions, such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Databricks , etc. is desirable
Experience working with Azure, Tableau, PowerBI, Fivetran, and dbt is a plus Ability to visually express ideas
Ability to handle a variety of overlapping projects and to change course quickly as needed
Experience with financial services, particularly asset management, is a plus
