A Materials Inventory Planner is responsible for assisting in the coordination of purchasing, shipping and receiving activities, monitoring inventory levels and stock movement, job creation and generating reports for management review. The role will involve:
Processing purchase requisitions and ensuring compliance with procurement policies
Coordinating with internal departments and external vendors to resolve supply chain issues
Analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement
Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and logistics providers
Assisting in the development and implementation of supply chain strategies and initiatives
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the creation and management of purchase requisitions, including:
Identifying and requesting necessary items or services
Ensuring accurate and complete documentation
Coordinating with internal departments and external vendors
Monitor and report on inventory levels, stock movement, and supply chain performance
Coordinate and monitor outside process vendors
Assist accounting in the resolution of receipt issues and discrepancies
Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and logistics providers
Assist in the development and implementation of supply chain strategies and initiatives
Create jobs and assist in monitoring WIP
Working Relationships
Work cross-functionally with most departments within the company on purchasing requisitions
Reaches out to suppliers to negotiate pricing and key terms
Works with accounting on receipts and discrepancies
Required & Preferred Key Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong working knowledge in ERP software and systems - Epicor preferred
