Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails is seeking a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to guide the overall strategy, operations, and management of the Council while demonstrating a deep commitment to the values of the Girl Scouts. These include a devotion to the Council's vision, an investment in the development of young girls, inclusion of diverse populations, and a belief in improving girls' lives through programs and partnerships with families, schools, and the community.

About Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails:

GSNMT is made up of more than 5,000 girls and adults across Central and Northern New Mexico. The council serves 23 counties with a presence in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Gallup, Farmington, Las Vegas, and Clovis. It is an independent 401(c) 3 organization who, in partnership with Girl Scouts of the USA and 110 other Girl Scout councils, works to build girls of courage, confidence, and character and who make the world a better place. GSNMT owns and operates two camps, Camp Elliot Barker in Angel Fire, NM and Rancho del Chaparral in the Santa Fe National Forest. GSNMT operates from its Albuquerque headquarters.

GSNMT supports a volunteer network of troop leaders, who lead girls through STEM, Outdoor Activities, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship.

The CEO oversees the operations of the Council, its programs, camp operations, volunteer and staff development, financial development, and community relations. Under the supervision of the Board of Directors, the CEO performs the following key responsibilities:

To successfully perform as the CEO, the selected candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Bachelor's degree in non-profit, public, or business administration or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five years' experience managing a non-profit organization, including experience with fund development, volunteer management, marketing & public relations, budget development and management, legal and financial compliance, staff leadership, and Board of Directors support.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, public speaking, and writing to meet staff, Board, and stakeholder needs.
  • Supervisory skills, including interviewing, hiring, training, and managing employees, conducting performance reviews, administering recognition programs, and addressing staff concerns.
  • Oversight of volunteers and volunteer programming.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and crisis management skills.
  • Process improvement ability.
  • Ability to hold self and others accountable.
  • Love for the outdoors.
  • Passion for leadership development of girls and commitment to the mission of the Girl Scouts

Hours

Flexible with scheduling and availability to work operational hours as well as evenings and weekends.

Travel

Travel is primarily between communities served by the Council, property owned by GSNMT, Girl Scout national conferences, and overnight travel, depending on the event.
