Manville School, a highly successful and reputable educational program, is seeking a Special Education Teacher for an Elementary School Classroom for the upcoming year. As the lead member of a three-person, multidisciplinary classroom team, the Special Education Teacher is responsible for the overall planning and supervision of a multi-grade level, self-contained classroom. The Special Education Teacher implements evidence-based curricula, maintains data-collection systems, and utilizes instruction-driven assessments to measure student progress. The Special Education Teacher writes and implements IEPs for each student in the classroom, including quarterly progress reports. The Special Education Teachers receive direct supervision by an educational coordinator, including formal and informal observations, 1:1 meetings, and support with curriculum development. Working with a classroom team made up of an Assistant Teacher and Classroom Behavior Specialist/Milieu Counselor, the Special Education Teacher creates a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment for the six to ten students in their classroom. This self-motivated individual communicates clearly, maintains calm, and has an enthusiastic approach to their work.

Essential duties:
Develop and implement unit and lesson plans following the students' IEP goals and objectives.
Utilize MA/CCSS Curriculum Frameworks to guide instruction appropriate to student grade, skill level and learning style, as outlined in students' IEPs.
In conjunction with the classroom team (assistant teacher and classroom counselor), develop and implement classroom behavior management plan appropriate to the age and social/emotional levels of students.
Foster positive self-esteem and social growth of students through appropriate curriculum and behavioral structure.
Create and maintain a respectful classroom culture that fosters safe and productive learning.
Monitor, observe, and maintain data on IEP goals and objectives.
Participate in supervision with educational supervisor and other members of the classroom team (i.e., assistant teacher, behavior support specialist).
Actively participate in all relevant scheduled school meetings.
Write IEP and Quarterly Progress Reports
Participate in learning and professional development opportunities and collaborate across disciplines
Provide mentorship to assistant teacher through weekly meetings.
Qualifications (minimum and or critical (i.e. evidence-base knowledge, etc. requirements only)Education:
Bachelor's or M.Ed in Special Education, with certification in Moderate Special Needs for grades K-8 and/or 5-12.
Experience:
3+ years of related experience with a similar population

Salary: Initial salary range of $75K - $90K, depending on knowledge and experience
