Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly cybersecurity staff/action officer to join our team in supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this high-profile role you will support efforts to clearly communicate the DoD CIO's Digital Modernization and Fulcrum vision/strategy and its approach for achieving cyber goals and objectives.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Prepare informational briefings for senior executives in their preparation for internal and external speaking engagements
Draft talking points and correspondence that target specific DoD CIO issues, internal and external audiences, and/or topics
Support project management framework and governance process implementation, operation, and development for DoD CIO offices such as Cybersecurity
Develop project management process, tools, and best practices to support the monitoring and execution of DoD CIO programs, actions, and taskers and reporting mechanisms to ensure programs', action's, and tasker's progress against established milestones
Coordinate operations and with subject matter experts to identify, recommend enhancement, or the adoption of existing project management frameworks and strategic frameworks to effectively accomplish programs, actions, and taskers
Assist in coordinating governance issuance, processes, and new legislation reviews with other departments and ASD Legislative Affairs
Attend forums department wide; identify issues requiring higher level adjudication to Senior level CIO leadership; and assist the department in presenting issues through increasingly higher-level forums
Track governance process issues/topics such as the execution of decisions and directives
Periodically inform stakeholders on departmental progress towards achieving decisions, directives, and departmental digital modernization objectives
Ensure all official correspondence (e.g., transmittal letters, memos, and presentations) conform to DoD requirements and standards
Create, track, technically edit, and/or support Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) packages
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, organizational development or similar other related discipline.
Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance
10 years progressive general experience working in/for DoD or federal agencies including operational and administrative experience.
Prior experience working with or supporting cybersecurity, cyber policy and or cyber governance forums
3+ years of Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)-level experience.
Knowledge of DoD correspondence requirements
Recent experience with correspondence and task management systems (CATMS)
Prior experience working in senior level DoD front office
