Applies technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills to support data needs related to Carilion Clinics' Quality Plan. Subject matter expert on the primary internal and external quality data sources, working closely with technical resources and key vendors (such as Vizient) to ensure accuracy and consistency of quality data definitions. Supports the Consolidated Quality Program's data needs and assists with data governance within CAPS.
Frequently interacts with other departments and internal/external customers on requests for quality data. Helps define data requirements for technical implementation and documents quality data standards/definitions. Utilizes analytical methods to review data within the data sets accessed for integrity and adherence to established governance principles. Hybrid work environment, including remote and onsite within hospital or administrative offices. Must be conscience of all operational and safety procedures.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field or an additional two years' work experience.
Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience working with internal and external data sources and analytical tools. Strong knowledge of quality measures and publicly reported data in healthcare environment (such as CMS, Leapfrog, US News & World Report). Data structures and data governance experience preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Valid Virginia drivers' license and dependable transportation. One or more of the following certifications would be helpful for this role:
Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP)
Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP)
Other Minimum Qualifications: Good organizational skills, analytical, dependable, detail oriented, strong interpersonal skills, and proficient use of the English language (both written and oral). Data profiling and data quality analysis experience preferred. Experience supporting user data needs. Experience with Vizient Clinical Database preferred. Must have excellent problem-solving skills and be customer service oriented.
