Job Description:
The Nebraska Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) supports over 35,000 participants monthly who have demonstrated financial and health needs related to nutrition.
The WIC Health Services Manager (V78791) supports WIC services for 13 local agencies and over 100 clinic sites to ensure vulnerable Nebraskans can access WIC programming, breastfeeding education, and lactation support for the best start in life.
Examples of Work:
Oversee 4 professional staff
Manage WIC services for 13 local agencies and over 100 clinic sites
Plan, implement, and review budgets, spending requests, and manage federal grant funds
Coordinate large scale projects and service implementation
Conduct annual service and fiscal reviews of sub-grantees
Prepare reports and addressing audit findings
Participant in federal audits, trainings, and other activities.
Manage the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling program and grant
Minimal in and out of state travel for conferences, training, and site visits/audits
In-state 10 days or less/year
Out-of-state 15 days or less/year
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, education, health sciences, public health, law or related field and experience in program planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluating program functions or supervising/management staff and budgets. Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in the above-mentioned fields. Licensed as an LPN, RN, BSN, RD, LMNT, CLC, IBCLC, PA or similar. 3 plus years of management experience. WIC Program experience
Other: A Valid Driver's License is required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have a bachelor's degree in nursing, dietetics, public health, health sciences, nutrition, or similar and 1 year of management or supervisory experience.
Knowledge or interest in WIC program
Understanding of breastfeeding, nutrition, and health services
Understanding of 7 CFR 246
Management/people leader
Application of federal funding and grant management
Clinical service experience (nursing, dietetics, or similar)
Excellent written and oral communication
Ability to organize large amounts of complex information
Ability to understand and apply regulations, statues, policies, and procedures
