REMOTE INSURANCE VERIFICATION SPECIALIST POSITION OVERVIEW

The Remote Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for verifying and confirming all patients' demographic, insurance eligibility and facilitating pre-certification, authorization and financial information, to provide an estimate of charges for service and to ensure suitable payment arrangements as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Verifies patient insurance benefits by direct communication (call/online etc.) with insurance carrier, patient, involved third party or employer.
• Create, maintain, and distribute Appointment Reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Routinely work in accordance with and adhere to company policies and core values.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of one to three years of experience in a healthcare industry and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a healthcare billing office or setting preferred.
• Possess a familiarity with medical terminology and medical records. Possesses effective organizational skills.
• Is self-motivated and dependable.
• Detail oriented with proven ability to meet deadlines.

• Candidates must have access to quality internet services to connect to a company VPN and conduct weekly Microsoft Team video and audio meetings without connectivity issues.
• Candidates must have a private set up in their home office that will allow them to work in a quiet and professional space while protecting confidential information.
