Job Summary
Support the overall research project through data collection, participant contact and recruitment, and support of other research needs such as data entry and specimen collection and processing.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform cognitive and physical assessments of newborns, older infants and preschool age children; conduct interviews and collect biological specimens. This includes driving to participants' homes, local prenatal clinics and hospitals and working and/or being on-call during weekday evenings and on weekends as needed.
Data entry.
Participant tracking and reconsent of participants for additional aspects of the study; maintain accurate participant contact records.
Collect, process and organize human biospecimens.
Develop and strengthen research protocols and training materials.
Other duties as assigned and needed, including administrative tasks.
Additional Physical Demands
Sitting, standing and moving around office spaces Lifting files, folders and other study materials up to 20 lbs. as needed Working on the phone or over Zoom Driving to participants' homes and collecting materials and forms Working evening and weekend hours to accommodate schedules of mothers and children
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in relevant field (psychology, community or public health, social work, etc.)
Interacting and communicating with women, parents or other members of the public
Interacting with infants and young children
Solid computer skills, especially in utilizing programs in MS Office suite
CITI Human Subject Trainings
Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
Experience conducting interviews over the phone and in person
Experience with research involving human subjects
Experience managing and maintaining databases
Experience in phlebotomy
Experience using computers to collect information and/or conduct measurements
Spanish language fluency
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Attention to detail, careful observation and note taking and strict adherence to protocol of procedures
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and follow detailed directions
Must have own car to conduct interviews and assessments and collect biological specimens at participants' homes and local prenatal clinics and hospitals
Ability to work and/or be on-call during weekday evenings and on weekends as needed
Proficiency with commonly-employed software and databases
Knowledge about pregnancy and birth
Knowledge about infant and young children's developmental stages
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Visiting Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis and renewable annually based on satisfactory progress in the position and continued funding. Position may become a regular, non-visiting position at a later date depending on funding and programmatic need. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the posting period closes. The salary range for this position is $59,000/year - $62,000/year. Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements and budget constraints.
