Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience is seeking an instructor for Lifespan Development at Wheaton College. The course meets in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:50 PM and serves both psychology and nursing students. The spring 2025 semester runs from January 22nd to May 7th, with final exams concluding on May 10th.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in psychology or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology

Course Description: PSY 233, Lifespan Development This course examines theory and research on psychological development across the lifespan. We begin with an overview of developmental theories, approaches, and research methods, and then explore individual development thematically (e.g., by domain) through five major life stages: infancy, early childhood, middle childhood and adolescence, emerging and middle adulthood, and old age. Domains of interest include genetic, physical, cognitive, language, intelligence, social and emotional, moral, and gender and sexual development, with particular emphasis on the social contexts of development across the lifespan.
