The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of Radiology is seeking an Assistant Manager -MRI to assist the Clinical Chief and the members of the Radiology department in provision of efficient and safe patient care. Provide supervision for daily operations within Radiology MR Unit.
Duties Include
Provide Specialty Patient Care:
Perform MR procedures in a safe and proficient manner consistent with hospital/department policies or standards of care.
Communicate in a positive manner with patients, families, and staff to address and resolve issues.
Models service excellence key behaviors and assure staff participation in departmental/hospital initiatives.
Delegate and assign responsibilities to technologists in the MR area to maintain high level of efficiency and assure provision of safe care, and high-quality MR images.
Provide Education:
Develops and encourages staff to strengthen technical, professional, and patient care skills. Assists with setting goals for staff and provides feedback in a positive manner.
Works with Clinical Instructors to facilitate clinical education.
Collaborate/Communicate with Health Care Team:
Communicates in a positive manner with physicians, staff and other units or departments on a regular basis to promote effective and efficient operations within the department. Promotes a positive work environment.
Engages staff to meet departmental or institutional goals. Communicates with staff in a positive manner to support initiatives and encourage staff participation.
Safe Delivery of Care and Compliance
Ensures standard of care, regulatory compliance and safety regulations are followed.
Identifies opportunities for improvement in quality and patient experience and recommends solutions.
Monitor supply expenses and identify cost savings to meet financial goals.
HR Management:
Assists with orientation and onboarding of new staff within the clinical area. Ensures orientation is complete and successful.
Assists Clinical Chief with recruitment and hiring of staff as needed.
Provides guidance and coaching to staff and students to assure outcomes are achieved.
Approve requests and timecards in ELMS.

Education Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications Required
Successful completion of approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required.
Certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies is required.
Certification in MR by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies is required.
Experience Requirements
1-3 years current experience in MR Radiology.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
Current experience in a Level 1 trauma center in MR.
