What you need to know about the role-
We are looking for a top-notch Sr. Manager of AI/ML products with broad experience across different ML domains and excellent coding skills to join PayPal's Global Analytics Data Science team in San-Jose, California.


Meet our team
The team builds horizontal ML services and solutions to serve ML scientists and Analysts in the company, working on business challenges in various domains including Risk, Sales, Credit, Marketing and more. The team is built of expert ML scientists in the domains of CV, NLP, GenAI, sequencing and graph algorithms and aims to enable scalable ML capabilities and integrate advanced AI/ML technologies through innovation and collaboration with external teams.

Your way to impact



As the Sr Manager, you will report to the Director of horizontal AI R&D. You will define and lead our multi-disciplinary AI/ML portfolio and manage a global team of TPMs responsible for delivering highly visible AI solutions across the company. You will work directly with Senior Leadership and tech experts across the organization, influencing AI strategy and driving cross functional integration.



Your day to day



As the Sr. Manager of AI/ML products you will be responsible for:


  • Develop product roadmaps in a variety of domains, including GenAI, Sequence & Graph Science, NLP & DocAI. considering factors such as business impact, strategic priority, technical and resource feasibility

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications, working directly with ML Scientists and Engineer teams to ensure successful implemantations

  • Work directly with Senior Leadership and tech experts across the organization, providing strategic guidance, serving as a trusted advisor of AI, and drive cross-functional integration

  • Own executive communication strategy to senior leaders, key stakeholders, mass audience, presenting at forums and high-level meetings to drive alignment, awareness, and support for AI initiatives.

  • Collaborate with industry thought-leaders and strategic partners to co-innovate

  • Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the team, encouraging team members to explore new ideas and approaches to leverage AI

  • Define and measure key performance indicators to evaluate and understand product value.


What do you need to bring



  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in product management & AI/ML research or development positions with a proven track record in production environments.

  • Leadership experience, preferably in managing multi-disciplinary technical teams (including product management/strategy, technology, design, engineers, and analytics)

  • BS or MS in STEM is strongly preferred

  • Experience demonstrating technical leadership working with teams, owning projects, defining and setting technical direction for projects

  • Experience working in a multi-culture and multi-location organizations

  • Team player, responsible, delivery-oriented, details-oriented

  • Have strong communication, listening, interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills; able to convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner

$107300 to $259600
