Full-Time - Salary Non-Exempt - 2nd shift- Onsite
Purpose
Perform daily testing on all aspects of medium power transformers and mobile substations in high voltage laboratory.
Main Responsibilities
Responsible for the Quality, Routine, Type & Special test testing to ensure product reliability to medium and large power transformers, Class I and Class II Power ratings up to 200 MVA base rating, Voltage ratings up to 230kV, 900kV BIL including: Autotransformers, Mobile Substations with Switchgear, Skid Transformers. Power Transformers are governed by IEEE C57.1200 and C57.12.90.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve test/setup/equipment problems.
Maintain and repair test equipment as necessary.
Follow testing methodologies and practices to meet industry standards and satisfy customer requirements.
Specific Duties
Responsible for testing to ensure product reliability to medium and large power transformers, Class I and Class II power ratings up to 200 MVA base rating
Ensure ongoing adherence to internal and external standards. Utilize PC and necessary hand calculations to prepare files and forms for testing.
Perform control wiring functional testing as well as troubleshooting potential control issues.
Education & Experience
Associate Test Technician
Minimum Electrical Associate Degree.
0-1 minimum years of equivalent experience in the electrical field, preferred.
Test Technician I
Minimum Electrical Associate Degree.
1-3 minimum years of equivalent experience in the electrical field, preferred.
Test Technician II
Minimum Electrical Associate Degree.
3-5 minimum years of equivalent experience in the electrical field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent analytical skills, computer literate, and have the ability to learn software programs.
Ability to learn and train, to interact on multi-department projects.
Recognize opportunities for improvement and take action.
Self-driven and task-oriented.
Travel Requirements
