The Manager of Legal Business Operations is responsible for the day-to-day business management and operational activities of our legal department. This role will handle compliance-related functions (including Sarbanes Oxley), and bring operational and financial discipline to the department through process efficiencies, financial management, business analytics, firm and vendor management, knowledge management, strategy planning and management and use of technology. The position is both a formal and informal leadership position and participates as a member of our Legal Leadership Team. The ability to handle a portfolio of sophisticated projects, build and nurture your network and collaborate with all levels are keys to success.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
Drives multi-year legal technology plan; identifies, evaluates and manages subscriptions for Legal (e.g., Westlaw, PLI, Pacer, etc.); partners with leaders and IT to handle system deployments, enhancements, integrations and upgrades that create operational efficiencies, mitigate risk, and follow records retention and other requirements
Identifies, develops and maintains policies, processes and procedures that bring efficiencies to department operations; maintains Business Impact Analysis and Business Continuity plans
Assists with, facilitates, and provides internal training activities, including technology adoption support
Collaborates with others to develop budgets and forecasts, monitor expenses, capital budgets and forecasts and allocation of costs and monthly/annual accruals
Identifies and compiles metrics and benchmarking opportunities; manages reporting and analysis; liaison to external auditors for required reporting
Coordinates workforce planning and career development activities for direct employees; accountable for recruiting, training and developing team members; establishes goals, provides direction and resources through training, leadership, and performance feedback
Interprets needs and business challenges to identify quality and service-related solutions and resolves day-to-day issues brought forward by legal department team members and external partners
Builds and maintains an internal and external network to share successes and collaborate on solutions for common issues
Supports the General Counsel with planning, communications and events

Education/Years of Experience:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Accounting, Law or similar; a minimum ten (10) years' experience in business operations/services, IT, process improvement or related field
Preferred: Master's degree; a minimum of twelve (12) years experience in business operations/services, IT, process improvement or related field
Other Requirements:
Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills and possesses a keen attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
