The primary focus of the IT Support Specialist is to provide technical support and ensure optimal performance of desktop systems for the Agency. In this role, the IT Support Specialist is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting desktop applications, hardware, and network connectivity. The position involves providing hands-on support for desktop systems, performing software installations, managing email listservs, and supporting various technology functions such as server management and hardware/software purchasing in coordination with the Finance. The IT Support Specialist will also monitor data security, safeguard information, and troubleshoot desktop computer systems. Additionally, the role may require collaboration with external entities (e.g., College IT Directors, ITS technical staff, and other agency technical personnel) to address system-wide technical issues and ensure seamless operation. The IT Support Specialist will stay up-to-date on current virus reports and protect networks from viruses, malware, and other vulnerabilities by actively monitoring, diagnosing, and addressing security threats. Provide user training, promote security awareness, develop policies and procedures, and regularly update and report to the Executive Director.
