Job Summary:

Supermicro is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team by testing the electronic boards (PCBA), quality control of parts and accessories to ensure the Supermicro products can meet the industrial and company quality standard. The candidate is responsible for daily operation of quality control for Supermicro products, isolate and analyze the defect products, prepare the report and liaison with QA team for product improvement. The candidate can work efficiently in fast-paced production environment to meet dynamic sale order and production assembly demands.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-depth analysis of GPU hardware failures and propose optimization solutions
  • Design new diagnostic and repair processes in complex failure cases to improve production line efficiency and product quality
  • Collaborate closely with the R&D team to explore new GPU technologies and emerging failure modes
  • Provide technical support to technicians to help resolve complex failure issues
  • Standardize and optimize the repair and testing workflows on the production line
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of existing equipment and technologies, suggesting improvements
  • Conduct performance and stability evaluations of GPUs, providing technical feedback to the R&D team
  • Develop detailed test plans and specifications to ensure GPUs operate stably in various scenarios\Write detailed technical reports documenting work progress, important decisions, and technical strategies
  • Maintain and update test plans, standard operating procedures, and technical documents
  • Coordinate communication across departments to ensure smooth repair operations
  • Provide necessary training for technicians to improve the overall technical skill level of the team.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Preference for candidates with experience in GPU, graphics cards, or related hardware R&D or advanced technical support
  • In-depth understanding of GPU hardware architecture, especially the working principles and common failures of the GPU
  • Proficient in using advanced testing tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) for fault diagnosis and performance analysis
  • Work experience and strong knowledge of operating systems - Linux, VMware, and Windows Server environments
  • Some software programming skills to design automated test scripts (e.g., Python, Shell, etc.)
  • Familiarity with hardware engineering processes, including design, testing, and validation
  • At least 1years of experience in hardware engineering, particularly in GPU hardware analysis, repair, or R&D.
  • Experience in project management within related fields is a plus.
  • Strong technical research and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent cross-team communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Good written and spoken English skills for reading and writing technical documentation.
Please note that this position requires regular in-office attendance. The successful candidate is expected to be present in the office during standard working hours as determined by the company. In-office collaboration and participation in team meetings, training sessions, and other on-site activities are essential aspects of this role. Candidates should consider the commuting distance and be prepared to fulfill their responsibilities in the designated office location.

Salary Range

$73,500 - $100,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
