Your Role:
The Sr. Equipment Technician works with the Equipment Engineers and Operations teams in a wafer fab cleanroom environment, to ensure that existing semiconductor processing equipment is repaired and maintained in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
Participate in cross-functional while taking on small improvement projects to assist in improving the factory
Perform Safety Protocol check on all equipment before maintenance or service work
Assist with equipment upgrade or installation projects as needed
Improve equipment performance by providing timely repair and maintenance for critical products deliverables
Foster the adoption of continuous improvement as a way life; creating a culture of execution
Test equipment and modified designs to improve efficiency, safety, and production levels
Assess each piece of equipment for upgrading and refurbishing
Handle the task of installing and upgrading tools to ensure that control of cost and delivery of quality work
Fabricate fixtures and test devices as needed. Maintains Lab Calibration system information
Conduct thorough troubleshooting of equipment problems and report detailed findings
Perform ALD and PVD troubleshooting to identify source of defects by partition of variation
Analyze equipment malfunctions and failures and accordingly develop corrective actions
Provide fast response to down equipment and apply effective diagnostic measures to address technical problems
Support robotic cells by programming for new specs and processes as well as troubleshooting equipment malfunctions
Monitor equipment performance and suggest improvements
Maintain and repair capital equipment used for ALD and PVD semiconductor processing
Perform repairs to return equipment back to production in a timely manner
Carry out general maintenance and repairs ALD and PVD
Carry out periodic and emergency maintenance of equipment
Complete system repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance while ensuring minimum safety incidents and optimum equipment performance
Conduct customer-requested service and reconfigurations
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and carryout work orders to full completion
Maintain record of all equipment serviced, next due date, remarks for follow up, etc
Takes initiative to improve PM documents and schedules, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and Leads
Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager
Perform visual inspections (Quality check)
Inspection of faulty equipment for cause of problem for verifying warranty eligibility
Provide technical continuity and consistency between shifts of equipment technicians via detailed project planning and written pass downs
Provide equipment status information to operators and management
Schedule equipment for service and assist jobs with logistics to minimize downtime
Plan and execute preventive maintenance and repair on a variety of Electro-Mechanical, Robotic and Pneumatic manufacturing equipment
Collect feedback from internal customers (Operations) for equipment usage and performance
Maintain record of electrical equipment failures, and remedial steps taken
Actively work to reduce the cost of ownership
Work safely with hazardous chemicals and materials
Provide 24×7 support for troubleshooting equipment
Keep workspace organized
Active member of ERT
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
3 + years of semiconductor fab experience
3 +years of semiconductor equipment and process experience
3 + years of strong vacuum experience with UHV on PVD and/or CVD systems as well as ALD Chambers
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation & Controls, or other maintenance/engineering discipline
Strong hands-on electro-mechanical orientation and experience on complex electro-mechanical systems, fluid handling, pneumatics, thermal systems, and/or optical systems preferred
Thorough of safe hazardous chemical and material handling
Hands on mechanical, electrical, robotic, vacuum, gas delivery, thermal and control systems troubleshooting capabilities
Ability to debug systems with the help of schematics and manuals
In-depth knowledge of instrumentation and data collection methods
Build strong and positive working relationships with all functional areas
Ability to multitask and work alone without supervision
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
Exceptional ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment
Familiarity with engineering drawings and the materials used for maintenance
Strong communication skills and work cooperatively in a team environment
Motivated, focused self-starter with high energy
Familiar with manufacturing processes, principles, and practices
Familiarity with networks, motion drives and computer skills
