About the Position
The Regional Volunteer Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day volunteer operations that support JTE (Job Training & Education) Center volunteers and staff located in five counties (King, Kitsap, Whatcom, Skagit and Snohomish). This position's goal is to leverage volunteer resources and foster a rewarding and sustainable volunteer experience for individuals, corporations, and organizations sharing their time, talents, and resources to advance Evergreen Goodwill's mission.
This role is responsible for recruitment, training, support, and stewardship of Mission volunteers with a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) lens/framework to advance and contribute to the volunteer program and Evergreen Goodwill's mission.
This role works cross-departmentally to coordinate support for special events and other projects as needed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Coordinate activities as they pertain to Evergreen Goodwill's volunteer program including but not limited to: creation of volunteer job descriptions, recruitment, orientation and training, placement, and stewardship.
Work closely with the Community Partnerships Manager, Community Liaison, Employer Partnership Coordinator, and JTE Center Managers and JTE Center staff to successfully recruit, onboard and coordinate the volunteer process. Ensure that volunteers have the skills, tools and knowledge to be effective in Mission fulfillment.
Track and monitor relationships of individuals connected to JTE primarily through volunteerism and JTE Programs. Enter data and maintain strict confidentiality of student, donor and volunteer records. Work under the supervision of the Community Partnerships Manager and with the database analyst to develop impactful reporting tools.
Establish objectives, strategies and factors that may impact the success of the program; develop work plan(s) to accomplish achievement. Identify and report key metrics illustrating JTE volunteer engagement, growth and other significant analyses.
Collaborate with the Community Partnerships Manager to develop benchmarks and best practices for JTE volunteer program.
Provide support all JTE volunteers with individual career exploration, job search, resume building and other job support services as needed and track job placements in database.
Support student volunteers from other educational institutions working to fulfill practicum hours, student teaching, and/or service learning projects for individual academic work.
Support JTE student volunteers to extend learning opportunities, gain workplace experience in positions of responsibility, practice English language skills in real world applications, build professional relationships for future networking and references, and build stronger resumes.
Maintain positive and effective community partnerships from public and private sector, academe and non-profit organizations to grow and expand the volunteer program to serve students in 5 counties.
Responsible for issue resolution and customer satisfaction with Mission volunteer program current customers.
Conduct JTE volunteer correspondence, thank you cards, mailing lists, content for marketing materials, and other materials necessary for recruitment, engagement, and stewardship of volunteers.
Review and maintain outreach/online recruitment platforms that attract individuals that reflect the community Evergreen Goodwill serves, including but not limited to: United Way, Volunteer Match, Signup.com and cultural social media groups.
Update and maintain information on the Volunteer Center on the Evergreen Goodwill website, JTE Center websites and/or social media platforms. Work closely with Marketing/Communications team as needed to develop and deploy marketing and outreach plans.
Keep up-to-date on volunteer coordination techniques, methodologies, and best practices.
Attend and participate in required meetings, trainings and develop and deliver presentations. Represent the organization at community events as needed.
Demonstrates safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent lived experience and/or demonstrated success in volunteer management, and community engagement. Lived experience and international experience considered in lieu of more traditional, U.S.-achieved credentials.
Minimum 1 year of experience in nonprofit development and/or volunteer management. Experience in teaching/ adult education programs preferred. Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
Bilingual skills a plus.
Success in simplifying and communicating complex ideas and tasks.
Experience teaching/training students who may not have any formal education.
Must be flexible and have the ability to work in an environment with diverse group of people.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
Must have valid Washington Driver's license and proof of insurance along with good driving record.
Computer/Technology Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job.
Physical Abilities:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to lift and carry 20-25 pounds; have developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers; standing for long periods, frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; climbing ladders; able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain). Ability to operate computer systems. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.
