This position is a full-time position Monday – Friday 6:30AM – 2:30PM. Perform various duties assisting in the cafeteria preparing daily menu items, washing dishes, operating cash register, cleaning tables, etc., following established practices and procedures. Assist in the execution of special events for internal and external meetings as required.
Work from established work schedule, written or verbal orders or instructions. Ability to lift and move food products from boxes to storage areas. Ability to remain standing for long periods and work at a fast pace when required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
· Under the direction of Food Service Manager, assist in the preparation and service of food items such as: breakfast and lunch daily specials, assembling salads/sandwiches, side dishes etc... Set out food prepared by cook and assist in serving customers.
· Provide creative ideas for new menu offerings.
· Operate cash register to receive payments, make change and receive vouchers. Collect dirty dishes, pots, pans and utensils. Wash and store in designated locations. Clean and arrange tables and chairs in the cafeteria. Wash counters, microwave, work areas, etc. Fill napkin, condiment, coffee station, utensil holders.
· Receive and store food products and other items in designated locations. As requested, go to the grocery store for food or other supplies.
· Detect and report defective or unsafe equipment, and other unusual situations to the supervisor. Observe and obey all safety rules, regulations and practices. Employ all required safety equipment and devices.
· Rotate between cooking, prep and cleaning. In absence of Food Service Manager, operate cafeteria including inventory of supplies, ordering supplies, executing special events, cooking, baking, anything required.
· Regular and reliable attendance is a requirement of the job.
· Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or directed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Current ServSafe certification required.
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience.
Ability to operate and clean kitchen equipment: grill top, meat slicer, fryer, stove/oven.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
