Job Summary
The Strategic Investments team leads M&A and investments across the Connectivity & Platforms division of Comcast. Their primary responsibility is to source and evaluate potential transactions, ranging in value from single digit millions to billions of dollars. A significant number of transactions are with emerging technology companies and the team regularly meets with startup founders, venture capitalists, investment bankers, and technical experts to analyze opportunities. As strategic investors, they partner with business leaders across Comcast to evaluate solutions to enhance our product roadmap, monetize existing assets, or improve the customer experience. Past acquisitions and investments have included companies in the advertising, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, holographic display, IoT, smart home, streaming TV, Wi-Fi, and wireless verticals.Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
Evaluates potential investment, acquisition, and partnerships by building financial models, researching new technologies, evaluating strategic fit with Comcast, and collaborating with teams across the organization.
Reads and extrapolates insights from financial statements, equity research reports, market consultant reports, and other industry sources to develop and clearly communicate an opinion on an investment decision.
Builds and presents insightful, thorough and well-written investment committee memos for executive audiences at Comcast.
Owns the end-to-end deal process and works with Corporate Development and Legal on analyzing data rooms, preparing investment and acquisition deal documents, and helping negotiate key terms with potential targets.
Manages the team's pipeline of current active opportunities.
Assists current portfolio companies with commercial success at Comcast and tracks financial and key operating metrics.
Team-player mentality and can work well with others.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
