The Miami HEAT and the Kaseya Center are hiring for Courtside Security Officers! The main function of this position is to assist in the handling of any security-related disturbances or problems that might arise during Courtside Club activations, during events, or at the facility. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Handle any disturbances or problems that arise during events or at the facility. If necessary, escort disruptive individuals to security office and/or off the premises.
2. Write incident reports and meet with security supervisor to review procedures.
3. Inspect alarms and fire extinguisher/sprinkler systems to ascertain they are set to operate. Inspect premises for signs of intrusion or tampering.
4. Tour facility examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secured.
5. Assist with crowd control inside and outside the premises.
6. Control unusual circumstances and events during fire, storms, riots, and other emergencies.
7. Answer alarms and investigates disturbances.
8. Assist guests with any security related issues.
9. Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
10. Assist security division with special projects.
11. General computer skills.
12. Ensure that Courtside Club and Kaseya Center policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.
13. Possess an excellent working knowledge with all matters outlined in the Courtside Club Safety and Security Standard Operating Procedures and the Kaseya Center Emergency Operations Manual.
14. Exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor.
15. Attend all training and meetings scheduled by the Kaseya Center Director of Security or the Courtside Club General Manager.
Desired Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must have a minimum of one-year related security experience and/or training. Must demonstrate knowledge of security issues related to major sports and entertainment venues. Ability to read and interpret security rules and regulations. Ability to write ejection and incident reports. Ability to give information and respond to questions from patrons and general public. Ability to assess certain situations, define problems, gather facts, and form valid conclusions. Ability to interpret security related issues and deal with different variables related to that issue. Class D License, Train Crowd Manager Certification, CPR and AED Certifications The employee is also required to lift objects in excess of 10lbs, i.e., barricades, traffic cones, etc.
