Our client, a leading service and solution technology provider, is seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer to join their dynamic team. This individual will be responsible for managing and enhancing the network security infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, and troubleshooting any security-related issues. The ideal candidate is a proactive, solutions-driven professional with hands-on experience in firewall configuration and network security. This position requires 3 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities:
Configure and manage firewall policies and interfaces (e.g., SonicWall, CheckPoint, ASA/FTD)
Implement and maintain next-generation security features such as URL filtering, Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), and more
Lead configuration migrations across various platforms
Perform Best Practice Assessments and recommend improvements for implementation
Troubleshoot and resolve network security issues through in-depth inspection and analysis of infrastructure
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all security configurations and processes
Collaborate on network performance, capacity, and scalability improvements
Configure and troubleshoot IPSEC LAN-to-LAN and Global Protect/VPN setups
Work alongside the team to optimize firewall performance and security posture
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
5+ years of experience with Palo Alto Networks (PAN-OS), including:
Strata Cloud Manager / Prisma Access (3+ years)
BGP and OSPF routing in PAN-OS (5+ years)
Inspection of SSL encrypted traffic (5+ years)
Palo Alto NGFW/Panorama in large-scale environments (100+ firewalls)
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, the OSI model, and advanced firewall configurations (e.g., Panorama, URL Filtering, IPS, User-ID, App-ID)
Hands-on experience with VM-Series / PA400 to PA7500 models and HA clustering
Familiarity with Expedition and Packet Capture analysis
Experience with Global Protect, Prisma SASE, Prisma SD-WAN, and SD-WAN/IPSEC site-to-site configurations
PCNSE certification is preferred
