Job Description
Summary
Responsible for operating and maintaining machining equipment as required. This includes loading and unloading of machines, operating the machines, cleaning and maintaining the machines as directed. Machines included are lathes, end mills and other types of equipment required to perform this job. This individual is responsible for helping to ensure timely deliveries and a quality product and helping to ensure a clean, orderly and safe work area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Extensive use of equipment and machinery associated with the assigned job task.
Establish good communications and working rapport with supervisors, engineers and manufacturing personnel to ensure a high level of customer service is delivered.
Understand Douglas products and the mechanical applications in which they are used.
Read a tape measure and understand engineered drawings.
Read micrometers and other measuring devices as required.
Lift 50 lbs, occasionally
Stand continuously for an 8-hour shift with overtime as required by company.
Apply verbal and written communication skills to communicate important issues to management and co-workers.
Continually exhibit the qualities of trustworthiness, a strong work ethic, and positive attitude.
Manage and organize own work while remaining a team player and handling other assigned tasks as required by the company.
Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area.
Regular, consistent attendance is a requirement. Overtime as required by the company.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high precarious places, and extreme heat and cold. The employee will be exposed to machine coolant as part of the operation of the equipment. The employee must stand for long periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Training, Certifications, Licenses
Valid State Driver's License. Must be able to satisfactorily complete company forklift certification. Background, DMV and drug and alcohol screening may be conducted as a condition of employment and continued employment.
