Senior Project Manager - Heavy Civil | Dallas/Fort Worth Area
An established construction firm in the Dallas/Fort Worth region is seeking an experienced Senior Heavy Civil Project Manager to oversee and deliver large-scale infrastructure projects. This role involves managing medium to large-sized projects, including complex scopes such as structures, roadways, and related operations. Reporting to the Area Manager, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive leadership experience, strong stakeholder management skills, and expertise in safety compliance, contract negotiations, and risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Oversight:
Provide high-level guidance and management to the project team, including Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, Field Engineers and Field Office Managers.
Core Duties:
Project Leadership: Drive project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and execution to achieve successful outcomes.
Cost Management: Conduct thorough cost analysis, ensure accurate job cost reporting, and maintain profitability on all projects.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary contact for owners, designers, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
Compliance Oversight: Enforce OSHA standards and internal safety protocols across all aspects of the project.
Subcontractor Coordination: Manage negotiations, oversee project buyouts, and ensure subcontractor adherence to schedules and quality standards.
Change Management: Process and present change orders to project owners, ensuring accurate documentation and integration into project planning.
Team Development: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
Construction Execution:
Review and interpret project plans and specifications to ensure compliance with all requirements.
Oversee the scheduling and coordination of resources to maximize efficiency.
Monitor self-performed work and adjust labor and equipment resources as needed.
Maintain and regularly update project schedules, including a detailed ten-day plan, and ensure clear communication of timelines.
Manage material orders and allocations to support seamless project delivery.
Qualifications:
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (extensive relevant experience may be substituted).
10+ years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on heavy civil, major highways, or aviation projects.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large project teams across complex scopes of work.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience engaging at all levels of management.
Experience with TxDOT and Design-Build projects is essential.
