This is a field-based management role responsible for overseeing and coordinating asphalt paving crews, including foremen and team members, to execute tasks such as paving, rolling, and patching asphalt for driveways, streets, parking lots, and highways.
Key Responsibilities:
Training and Leadership:
Lead and guide crews, providing training, support, and motivation to ensure project success.
Facilitate employee development through training, mentoring, and performance management support.
Stay current with hot mix asphalt (HMA) specifications to ensure quality standards.
Safety:
Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety meetings.
Perform pre-job inspections and layouts to ensure job readiness.
Identify and address job site safety hazards, ensuring adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) policies.
Oversee equipment maintenance inspections to ensure all machinery operates safely.
Operations Management:
Supervise crew leaders and manage crew activities on-site.
Coordinate with foremen and project managers to monitor progress, schedules, and resource needs.
Schedule and prepare equipment and manpower for projects, optimizing efficiency and meeting technical specifications such as slope and material thickness.
Independently resolve front-line issues and make critical on-site decisions.
Ensure project deadlines are met by efficiently allocating resources, materials, and labor.
Maintain accountability for safety, production rates, and quality control.
Client Relations and Administrative Tasks:
Maintain positive client relationships and uphold professional conduct.
Communicate schedule changes or project adjustments to relevant stakeholders.
Complete administrative tasks, including paperwork, reporting, and documentation, in a timely and accurate manner.
