Our Color, Compounding and Additives Division is a leader in the manufacture of custom compounds and color concentrates and operates manufacturing facilities in Jasper, TN and Garfield, NJ.

We are currently looking for an Administrative Assistant/Customer Service Representative at our Primex Color, Compounding & Additives location in Garfield, NJ. The successful candidate be a positive, personable, and reliable people person who enjoys working with a diverse range of individuals. S/he will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless communication between our customers, sales team, and manufacturing personnel and will be responsible for providing exceptional customer support, processing orders, and facilitating effective communication across departments to ensure timely deliveries.

What you will do:
  • Interact with outside customers to confirm orders and promptly communicate any issues that could impact delivery timelines.
  • Communicate with our internal sales team to provide support and assist with both current and future orders.
  • Print and deliver hard copies of sales orders to manufacturing and quality control teams for verification and scheduling.
  • Re-confirm delivery dates with customers and communicate with local transportation personnel to arrange deliveries.
  • Address customer issues by identifying the root cause and working toward effective resolutions. Show resourcefulness in resolving problems both with customers and internally.
  • Manage customer filing and records efficiently and accurately.
  • Handle and distribute color chips to customers as directed by sales and quality control lab.
  • Communicate with the other PCCA location regarding supply chain needs.
  • Manage communication with visitors and ensure they are properly hosted.
  • Maintain a clean and professional office environment.
  • Ensure that all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) is available for guests.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail as needed.

  • 2+ years of proven experience in administrative support and customer service, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Resourceful problem solver who can manage customer inquiries and internal communications effectively
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
