A day in the life.
As our Data Analyst, you'll work closely with client teams to evaluate health and welfare programs to identify trend, benchmark and measure key financials and specific improvements in the overall population of MMA clients. Responsibilities include utilization of claims analysis tools and development of detailed client reports.
Assists in actuarial/quantitative analysis projects under the guidance of senior project team members in order to assess and calculate costs, rates, risks and trends associated with underwriting health and welfare insurance, brokering contracts, or projecting health care related costs.
Gathers, organizes, tests, and reviews client or vendor data for accuracy, validity, and reasonableness, and to identify any discrepancies.
Performs analyses and cost projections by using or modifying existing products, tools, and pricing models in Excel, SAS, and other software.
Assists senior project team members in preparing reports for data trend analyses in order to summarize findings and recommend a strategy, solution, or plan design to the client.
Participates in development of company's intellectual capital in order to develop knowledge of health insurance actuarial services and products.
Researches, analyzes, and reviews industry, regulatory, and legislative trends for calculating risk, liability, and cost for client or government reports.

We'd love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Working knowledge of employee benefit plans with 2 years of industry experience and demonstrated relationship management skills
Ability to coordinate multiple projects while ensuring timely and accurate client deliverables, with effective problem solving and resolution skills
Strong organizational, project planning and management, analytical and multi-tasking skills
Ability to communicate with tact and maintain confidentiality
Excellent relationship building and presentation skills
Superior listening, verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:
