GENERAL SUMMARY
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and maintain close working relationships with US and international customers to advocate and facilitate AM General’s business growth through the advancement of soft recoil technology and mobile fires capabilities
Coordinate internally with domestic and international business development, government relations, engineering, Program IPT, and externally with MANDUS Group
Analyze, review, and report US funding for existing programs and future opportunities for soft recoil technology
Establish and maintain positive working relationships to advance the company’s soft recoil technology and mobile vehicle capabilities and automotive enhancement efforts in support of domestic and international business development
Develop, implement, and execute AM General’s strategy for soft recoil technology and mobile fires capabilities and proactively evaluate growth opportunities and new funding opportunities
Maintain, update, and report status of current funding for soft recoil technology insertion on AMG vehicles and future platforms
Assess, report, and advise on soft recoil technology and mobile fires capabilities performance to AM General business leaders to make determinations on prioritization, resources, and pursuits, and provide recommendations for formulation of action plans and countermeasures
Assist in Government Relations initiatives to increase congressional funding for soft recoil technology and mobile fires capabilities
Manage the relationships of current and potential strategic partnerships amongst industry leaders for adoption and integration of breakthrough fires technology
Lead and advise AM General leadership on engagements with the senior US and international government officials and attend trade shows and industry events
Coordinate, support, and complement international capture managers for international business growth opportunities, showcasing AMG’s groundbreaking soft recoil technology and improved mobile fires platforms
Engage internally with engineering, operations, proposals, pricing, and contracts to successfully execute program requirements within cost and schedule while satisfying customers’ requirements
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s Degree (Masters Preferred) with 10 plus years of relevant experience in automotive industry and automotive engineering and technology, and with preferred experience US Government defense budgets, defense contracting, and testing and evaluation of developmental programs
Previous experience in US Army maneuver or fires operational career fields
Demonstrated experience leading and managing high performance teams in a highly matrixed organization and complex environment
Team player– collaborative, able to work in a team of teams and not worry about credit
Entrepreneurial operator – a self-starter able to utilize guidance and intent to create opportunities that advance the team and grow revenue
Excellent interpersonal skills –diplomatic in complex environments and able to advance goals
Strong verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to influence/persuade stakeholders both inside the organization and out
Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry

Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Location: This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours. The Employee must be able to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noises
Teamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace
Listening Skills: This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately
Ability to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competently
Methodical approach: Production lines follow a set process, so this position needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production line
Concentration: This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes. This role is often fast paced, so being able to maintain focus at all times is important
