JOB TITLE: Project Director – R25-002
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Director to lead VES key initiatives, such as a project focused on enhancing special education services in a state. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various projects, delivering high-quality professional learning, and/or ensuring compliance with state and federal special education requirements. This role requires extensive knowledge of special education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to relate to diverse stakeholders. The Project Director will work closely with state leaders to implement effective strategies, foster collaboration, and drive results.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management: Lead and manage various projects from planning through implementation, including setting goals, managing timelines, identifying and analyzing project risks, and presenting mitigation strategies to ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget and the project is successful and efficient.
Training and Professional Development: Design and deliver training programs for educators, administrators, and support staff in areas such as Individualized Educational Plan development, assistive technology, inclusive education, and transition planning.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely and be responsive to administrators, educators, families, and other partners to understand their needs and provide tailored support and resources.
Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all project activities comply with relevant state and federal regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Prepare and present progress and technical reports to clients and stakeholders.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with VES and partners' project managers and staff to design and/or monitor deliverables. Attend programmatic and technical meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Holds at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
Minimum of five years of experience in special education, including teaching, administration, or related roles. Experience managing large-scale projects or initiatives in education with exceptional attention to detail skills.
Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
Expertise in developing and delivering training to school leaders, educators, and school staff.
Proven project management skills, including experience with adaptive or agile project management approaches.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to diverse groups of people.
