Senior Director, Specialty Compliance and Ethics (Governance & Global Marketplace Compliance)



Location: Bentonville, AR


Walmart Global Marketplace and Ecommerce Compliance (GMEC) is seeking an outstanding Senior Director of Governance & Global Marketplace Compliance. The perfect candidate will possess intellectual curiosity, enthusiasm, strategic problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and self-motivation, backed by a robust background in compliance and some technology experience. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for building a global oversight model, managing item compliance review and enhancing GMEC's monitoring and reporting. You will work closely with legal and compliance subject matter experts to develop, manage and implement a strategy for meeting the business objectives compliantly. The Senior Director of Marketplace Governance & Global Marketplace Compliance plays an essential role of embedding regulatory compliance in Walmart's marketplace initiatives globally.



What you'll do:



  • Design and implement a global marketplace compliance oversight model


  • Assess the resource impact of expanding global oversight


  • Manage a team of internal and external agents conducting item compliance review tasks


  • Evaluate the item compliance agents and vendors for efficiency and effectiveness and propose a maturity plan


  • Drive and mature the GMEC compliance program by developing and enhancing monitoring and reporting with input from stakeholders


  • Manage GMEC issues, risks, controls and other horizontal activities


  • Partner with the business to deliver compliantly against cross-border marketplace initiatives


  • Coordinate across Compliance and Legal to execute global marketplace initiatives that meet regulatory and legal requirements





What you'll bring:



  • 7+ years of compliance and/or legal experience


  • 4+ years of supervisory experience


  • The ability to be organized, disciplined, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously


  • Effective communication with the ability to interact with senior leadership and internal and external stakeholders


  • Experience building cross-functional teams within a corporate environment


  • Excellent leadership and team management skills


  • Proven people leadership experience, including experience leading operational teams


  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within a large scale, complex organization


  • Experience building compliance programs, including a deep understanding of the pillars of a compliance program and the three lines of defense model.


  • Proficiency using technology to implement effective compliance programs

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 5 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 7 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area. 4 years' supervisory experience. 5 years' experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
