Overview

Perform a somewhat diversified range of duties to count, sort and store EMDs and component parts after they have been received onsite or at 3PL and fill inventory requisitions following customer order and transport components to proper department as needed. Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.



Responsibilities

  • Counts, sorts and stores EMD and component parts after they have been received in stockroom, distributes to storage areas
  • Fills orders by use of inventory withdrawal SAP software in an accurate and prompt manger, and deliver parts to proper department
  • Assist in the inventory of special components or purchased parts for verification of stock status
  • Required to use forklift in handling and storage of components and parts
  • Keep the production area in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading
  • Determines method of shipment
  • Affixes all shipping labels
  • Places EMDs in crates and prepares for shipment
  • Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
  • Enters weight and number of pallets on prepared bill of lading and maintains for truck driver
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Operates tow motor to move shipments from shipping

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as summary totals, square footage and linear footage.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
