A DAY IN THE LIFE
As a key member of the team and reporting directly to the Assistant Corporate Controller, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
Assist with the coordination, management, preparation, and reporting of the Company's external financial reporting on SEC Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, quarterly earnings releases, Investor presentations, and more.
Lead technical accounting analysis and miscellaneous general ledger activities.
Perform month-end and quarter-end closing duties, owning preparation of certain journal entries, balance sheet, cash flow, and income statement reconciliations and analysis.
Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to management.
Comply with internal controls, in accordance with the Company's guidelines, to ensure a high degree of completeness and accuracy of the financial statements.
Collaborate with Financial Planning and Analysis and Global Business Services teams, and other cross-functional departments as required, to ensure completeness of accrual and deferral schedules.
Communicate with on-site, operational finance team members by coordinating activities, answering questions, and ensuring adherence to the Company's policies and procedures.
Prepare documentation for external auditors for periodic audits/reviews and keep track of any audit open items to keep the whole team accountable.
Prepare financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A disclosures and complete financial statement disclosure checklists
Prepare and/ or review supporting schedules and perform financial statement tie-out
Research accounting guidance related to new accounting pronouncements and/or technical matters and document findings in memos to management and external auditors.
Prepare purchase price accounting for new business acquisitions and help with the financial integration efforts
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university
Minimum 3 years in top 10 public accounting firm (Big 4, RSM, BDO, Grant Thornton, etc). Additional years working in a publicly traded company in an SEC reporting or technical accounting role is preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX internal control frameworks, and financial reporting requirements
Experience with preparing and reconciling the following accounts: goodwill, intangibles, contingent acquisition earnouts, and purchase price accounting and working capital true-ups.
Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
Experience in environments with high transaction volume
Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookup formulas required
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Solid organization and time management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills. Understanding when and how to escalate issues
Ability to work independently, managing responsibilities, self-starter, self-motivated
Positive, proactive and team-focused attitude
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Holds an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
Familiarity or experience with Workday Financials (ERP)
