Moderna is seeking an experienced and strategic leader for the newly created role of Director, Belonging and Employee Engagement. This role will connect Moderna's unique culture and people philosophies by designing, implementing, and leading impactful initiatives that advance our culture, promote belonging, and drive employee engagement. With a commitment to "acting with dynamic range," the role will involve contribution to strategy development with primary accountability for tactical execution of programs and initiatives to deliver measurable results.
Reporting to the Head of Talent Management and Culture, this role will integrate belonging and engagement initiatives into broader talent strategies and programs, ensuring they resonate across the organization to align efforts with Moderna's business goals.

Here's What You'll Do:
Culture
Design and implement high-impact programs and initiatives that embed Moderna's mission, values, and mindsets into daily operations, scaling to meet the needs of a global workforce, in partnership with our Learning organization
Regularly assess "the state of Moderna culture" through feedback from employees, managers, and cross-functional teams. Use insights to design and refine programs that strengthen culture, belonging, and the employee experience.
Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends to continuously enhance a culture where employees thrive.
Leverage digital tools and platforms to develop innovative, accessible, global solutions that connect employees and promote Moderna's culture in meaningful ways.
Partner with Learning, Talent Management, HRBPs, and People Analytics to align culture-focused initiatives with broader strategic goals.
Use data and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of culture initiatives and adapt strategies to optimize impact.
Belonging
Design and execute programs and initiatives that bring Moderna's Belonging philosophy to life for employees.
Serve as the program manager for Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), ensuring they effectively promote belonging, inclusion, and diversity across Moderna:
Establish an operating rhythm to foster collaboration and alignment across ERGs, leaders, and executive sponsors.
Manage regular meetings with ERG leaders and the Belonging Leadership Council to drive progress and amplify outcomes.
Enhance ERG operations, events, and communications through tools, processes, and digital resources, promoting visibility and intersectionality.
Support ERG leadership with succession planning and sponsor selection to ensure sustainable leadership structures.
Act as a trusted advisor to ERGs, aligning their efforts with Moderna's business goals.
Engagement
Directly accountable for delivering on Moderna's "Listening Strategy." In partnership with Learning, this role will be implementing programs that support proactive engagement, feedback gathering, analyzing and action planning.
Oversee the bi-annual Employee Engagement Survey, including survey design, deployment, testing, and communications planning in coordination with the digital team.
Partner with HRBPs and managers to provide tools, technical support, and guidance for interpreting survey results and driving actionable outcomes.
Program manage quarterly Core Values Awards, including communication plans, nomination management, and selection logistics.
Contribute to workplace recognition initiatives, such as Great Places to Work and the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index, to enhance Moderna's employer brand.
Serve as the Project Manager for company-wide "Voice of Employee" initiatives, including managing budgets, digital platforms, and amplifying special interest group activities (e.g., clubs, sports teams, and social events).
Here's What You'll Need (Minimum Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
10+ years of experience leading talent programs, DE&I initiatives, employee engagement, or leadership development.
This role is based in our new LEED-certified HQ in Cambridge, MA and is expected to be in office 70% of the time with flexibility to work from home up to 30%.
