Job Description



Vertex is seeking a seasoned Construction Manager/Owner's Representative - Project Executive to lead and oversee high-profile projects from conception to completion. This key role has direct responsibility for business and client outcomes.


  • Maintain primary responsibility for the performance of all contracts under assignment including business development, performance, and profit and loss.

  • Participate in strategy discussions and represent the firm to inside and outside constituents exhibiting the highest ethical and professional behavior

  • Lead client representative responsible for client satisfaction. Responsible for ensuring that all team members, Vertex and outside consultants and contractors, meet their commitments to clients. If either falls short, take all appropriate corrective action.

  • Participate as senior leaders in staffing decisions and implement the direction of the team.

  • Take a leading role in representing the firm with all current and prospective clients. Promote the firm at all industry or related events

  • Respond immediately to all concerns expressed by clients concerning Vertex service and assure staff urgency

  • Take an active role in business development operations including prospecting, proposal development, and interviews

  • Lead proposal and interview team providing strategy, guidance, and preparation to all pursuits




Qualifications




Education



  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, architecture, construction management, or construction project management is required, though considerable years of work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.


Experience



  • Minimum of 10 years in construction management/owner's representation, with at least 5 years in a senior role.

  • Owner's Representative / Construction Manager experience and leadership of CA public vertical construction projects is preferred, but not required

  • Experience leading K-12 schools, public safety, higher education, and healthcare projects is preferred.


Knowledge and Skills



  • Be an expert in the delivery of large complex projects with significant experience in design and construction phases

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong understanding of project and construction budgeting, financial management, and cost control

  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and regulations

  • Understanding of California public construction laws and requirements

  • Proficiency in project management and construction software




Additional Information



The annualized salary range for this role is $200,000 to $250,000 per year.
