Description:

• Reporting to the Manager of Social Work


• Our Mother Baby Unit focuses on the health and well-being of new mothers and their infants, offering specialized care to meet the unique needs of this population. The Social Worker will have a passion for maternal and infant health, a commitment to advocacy, and the ability to provide psychosocial support to patients and families.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments for patients and families in the Mother Baby Unit.


• Offer emotional support and counseling to address stress, anxiety, postpartum challenges, or other psychosocial needs.


• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other care team members to ensure holistic patient care.


• Develop and implement discharge plans, ensuring access to appropriate community resources and support services.


• Educate patients and families on coping strategies, parenting resources, and other relevant topics.


• Document interventions, assessments, and care plans in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

What you will need:

• State of Maryland LSWA, LGSW, LCSW or LCSW-C licensure.


• Master's degree in social work.


• One year of social work experience in Mother Baby postpartum unit strongly preferred.


• Demonstrated ability to work with all age groups of patients. Able to communicate effectively.

Pay rate: $33.73 - $50.59


Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
