Job Description:

Join the Welding Team at M&M Carnot, a product line of Johnson Controls, where the mission is to cool the world by providing natural refrigeration solutions. The TIG Welder plays a vital role in welding stainless steel subassemblies according to ASME code, utilizing proficiency in 6G welding techniques on stainless and carbon steel. The role involves contributing to the commitment to delivering exceptional solutions by ensuring structural integrity and product quality. M&M Carnot is dedicated to eco-friendly refrigerants, and the TIG Welder contributes to a higher vision of making a positive impact on global warming, energy utilization, and electrification through natural refrigerant solutions.


Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
  • Select appropriate welding methods, tools, and materials based on project specifications and materials used.
  • Set up welding equipment, including selecting proper settings for voltage, current, and gas flow.
  • Operate welding machinery and tools to join, fabricate, and repair metal components and structures.
  • Perform various welding tasks with precision and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality welds and strong structural integrity.
  • Monitor and maintain welding equipment for safe and efficient operation.
  • Inspect welded joints and structures to identify and address defects or imperfections.
  • Collaborate with Team Lead to ensure timely completion of assigned projects.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • TIG welding experience.
  • Ability to pass the 6G TIG Test (2” carbon steel schedule 80 pipe with 70S-6 filler).
  • Willingness to work 1st shift (4 10-hour shifts, Monday – Thursday, 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM), with optional overtime on Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Demonstrated positive work history and reliable, punctual attendance.
  • Strong self-directed and proactive work ethic.
  • Physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift heavy objects as required.

Physical Requirements 

  • Occasional lifting of 50 lbs.
  • Constant standing.
  • Frequent walking.
  • Occasional bending, climbing, and crawling.
  • Frequent reaching and grasping.
  • Occasional sitting and connecting.
  • Frequent pulling.
  • Vision corrected to 20/20.
  • Frequent handling of equipment and materials.
