Johnson Controls is seeking a QC Welding Inspector to ensure the proper placement of components before welding and to oversee the fabrication process. The role involves conducting dimensional inspections, inspecting welding preparations, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality procedures.
Responsibilities:
Conduct dimensional inspections on fabricated pieces after assembly.
Inspect welding preparations and tack welds to ensure compliance with specifications.
Report and address non-conformances in welding and fabrication.
Update inspection progress in the system and interpret plans and standards.
Adhere to safety rules and corporate quality procedures.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 2+ years of fabrication experience.
Technical Skills/Abilities: Proficiency in blueprint interpretation, welding, and steel fabrication. Knowledge of reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Ability to maintain dimensional tolerances and use measuring tools. Experience with interpreting P&ID's is highly desired.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, stand, walk, and bend for extended periods. Willingness to work in variable climate conditions.
