Job Description:
  • The Data Steward is part of a team supporting the Client DBS Data domain.
  • The primary focus of the Data Steward is to ensure that DBS data is accurate.
  • This is accomplished by implementing data quality rules to ensure the data is of a quality appropriate for its intended use.

Job Functions:
  • Ensure that DBS data is accurate and up to date.
  • Support and maintain data quality rules for inbound and outbound data contained within the Client DBS Data domain.
  • Communicate with DBS data providers (DMS's) regarding data issues and resolutions.
  • Open, track, and actively work with DMS providers to fix ongoing data quality issues.
  • Help to support data quality metrics and KPI's for DBS Data domain.
  • Monitor data quality reports and develop plans to address identified issues.
  • Support data stakeholders with data quality and lineage inquiries.
  • Ensure stakeholder requests are triaged, processed, and closed appropriately.
  • Collaborates with the Enterprise Data Governance team to ensure appropriate governance compliance within Client DBS Data domain.
  • Assists with compliance process for DBS data access.
  • Compile retention, archival, and disposal requirements and ensure compliance with Client Records Retention Policy and national regulations.
  • Implement data curation practices to ensure that the life span of data continues to follow guidelines and protocols in place.
  • Support data merge process within Master Data Management (MDM) tool.

Minimum Qualifications:

Job Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of information technologies, standards, and best practices prevalent in data governance, data quality, and data privacy.
  • Familiarity with data management principles and practices.
  • Experience creating and documenting policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work with both business stakeholders and technical support teams to resolve data issues.

Relationship and Communications Skills:
  • Ability to communicate successfully with stakeholders at all levels to understand their needs and translate those needs into an action plan using the tools are resources available to support the data domains.
  • Ability to communicate with highly technical individuals about the desires, insights and observations of the business and to ensure development and deployment of appropriate solutions.

Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree with a total of 3 years supporting data quality and data management related projects within a large-scale corporate organization.
  • Experience working in a data steward role a plus.

Computer Skills:
  • Experience with data and data environments is required.
  • Experience with the following tools is preferred.
    • Microsoft Office (Excel & Powerpoint required)
    • Tableau
    • SQL
    • Snowflake
    • Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) Analyst Tool
    • Informatica Axon
    • Informatica EDC
